Practical audio engineering for real-world spaces

About Seb

SebSound is a live-sound engineering service based in Portland, Oregon with experience mixing bands, worship teams, and livestream audio across multiple venues and event types. We specialize in fixing systems that were built piece-by-piece over time and now behave unpredictably.

We work directly with volunteer teams and create workflows that normal people — not audio nerds — can operate confidently every week. Our approach is practical, documented, and focused on results.

When you hire us, you're not hiring someone who loves talking about gear. You're hiring a service that focuses on the mix, understands your constraints, and leaves you with systems and knowledge you can maintain long-term.

Background

Training & Certification

Sound engineering certificate from an established audio program, with hands-on experience in both studio and live environments.

Live Sound Experience

  • Mixed live bands, worship teams, and corporate events
  • Proficient with digital consoles (X32, M-400, etc.)
  • Expert in livestream routing, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Experienced creating documentation for volunteer teams

Philosophy

Audio engineering is about solving problems within real constraints. Your church has volunteers, not a full-time tech team. Your venue has existing equipment, not unlimited budget. Our job is to make it all work.

We believe in over-communicating, documenting thoroughly, and training people you'll keep working with. A good engagement leaves you better equipped than when we started.

Why Work Together?

Practical, not theoretical

We understand real constraints: volunteers, limited budgets, older equipment. We work with what you have.

Clear communication

No jargon unless necessary. We explain problems, solutions, and trade-offs in plain language.

Thorough documentation

You get written guides, diagrams, and a plan your team can follow. Not just fixes that only we understand.

Focused on your goals

Whether it's reliable livestreams or confident volunteer teams, we work toward what matters to you.
